At the beginning of the year I enjoyed a heavenly brunch at
Gail's Kitchen, just off Tottenham Court Road. Gail's Kitchen (image 1 below) is the first restaurant in the artisan Gail's Bakery empire and what a fine blueprint for future restaurants it is. As this isn't a foodie blog I won't divulge too much on the cuisine (apart from to try the toasted corn bread with avocado salsa and fried eggs- pretty special) but I must remark most importantly on the décor. Rustic wooden dining tables with steel legs are accented with buttery soft leather seating benches in a striking ginger shade as well as wrought iron chairs in bright white. All sitting seamlessly back to dove grey walls and some poppy artwork. Arguably the finest addition to the Nordic look and feel of Gail's Kitchen is the wire chairs. Noted as a dining feature I'd love to recreate in my own home, I've been stealing moments here are there to hunt out wire chairs online. The classic Harry Bertoia wire chair (1952) for Knoll would be the ultimate indulgence but at £520 each I've hunted out some savvy alternatives and some additional inspiration below...

Wire chairs- great for injecting some texture into your dining area and work well with all table tops.
